The Beach
My home away from home
“A hundred summers! can it be?
And whither goest thou, tell me
where?”
“O seek my father’s court with me,
For there are greater wonders there.”
And o’er the hills, and far away
Beyond their utmost purple rim,
Beyond the night, across the day,
Thro’ all the world she follow’d him.
Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Last year I wrote a little something on here about my love for the beach, and how excited I was to be going back after a long (and unwanted) hiatus. Since writing that I have had the unbelievable good fortune to visit the beach three times. Each time I’m there a few different things happen. Firstly, I am overcome with a sense of calm and of belonging, like a puzzle piece fitting perfectly into its place. Secondly, I am keenly alert; watchful for all of the sights and sounds that are constantly happening on the shore and in the sea. Lastly, I am moved to worship. Every bird, shell, creature, cloud, ray of sun, all of it pushes my gaze to the Lord. I thank Him for His Supreme Creation, and for letting me have eyes to see it and a heart to care for it.
Here are a few pictures that I took. This trip was particularly fun and exciting as I added a few new species of birds to my life list, as well as having several opportunities for interaction with wildlife.

All of your photos are gorgeous. And that sand dollar! What an amazing find. I also love being in nature (whatever its form) and how it directs my attention to God. ❤️
Your photos are phenomenal! The beach is a shadow of heaven to me.
